Dermaplaning In Perth, And No, It Does Not Grow Back Thicker
A blade drawn flat across the skin takes off the dead surface layer and the fine hair sitting in it. The follicle is never touched, which is the whole reason the thing everybody worries about does not happen.

Cutting A Hair Cannot Change How It Grows
How thick a hair is, how dark it is and how fast it comes back are all decided by the follicle, which sits well under the surface. A blade drawn across the skin removes the part of the hair above the skin and gets nowhere near it. Nothing about the instruction the follicle is working to has changed.

Dermaplaning Before And After
Simone's own clients, photographed in the studio. Three of the four had an enzyme peel alongside the dermaplaning, and each caption says so, because the blade is not doing all of that work on its own.
Dermaplaning Questions
No. The blade cuts the hair off level with the skin and never goes near the follicle, and the follicle is the only thing that decides how thick or how dark a hair grows. What does change is the end of it. A hair that grew to a fine point now has a blunt cut end, so for the first few days it can feel coarser under your fingertips. Nothing about the hair itself is different.
No. There is no pulling and nothing is being lifted out of the skin, so it is closer to a light scrape than to a wax. Most people describe it as a strange sensation for the first minute and then nothing much at all.
The dermaplaning itself, and then an enzyme peel in the same appointment. LED light therapy is a separate add on from $20 per fifteen minutes if you want it.
For most clients it is once a month.
There is no peeling phase and no visible recovery, so it is not a treatment you have to hide from. Your skin has just had its surface layer taken off though, so sun is the thing to be sensible about and Simone will talk you through the first day before you leave.
Anything active on your skin, so breakouts that are inflamed, anything broken or weeping, cold sores, a recent peel or needling appointment, and any prescription skin medication you are on. None of that is automatically a no, but all of it changes whether today is the right day and it is her call to make with the information in front of her.
Yes, from $20 per fifteen minutes, up to an hour. It is the add on that gets booked with dermaplaning most often because you are already lying there and the skin has just been cleared. Ask for it when you book so the appointment is scheduled long enough.
